Next-generation sequencing (NGS) has been the backbone of agrigenomics research for more than a decade, while high-throughput microarray platforms have enabled genotyping at a cost and scale required to apply this information to breeding programs. Illumina continues to update and improve both technology platforms through R&D investments, manufacturing and supply improvements, and deployment of new products and features that reduce costs and increase ease of use. These innovations open the door to new discoveries and applied use cases in areas such as environmental biomonitoring, innovative crop and soil treatments, veterinary health, conservation, and food chain management.

Kahlil Lawless, global agrigenomics segment manager at Illumina, will share recent advances and improvements, as well as examples from the field where these technologies are being utilized successfully in research programs and applied testing laboratories.
